Not just a musical collaboration it was something greater. It was something greater, the band Indian Ocean and the Music Director Vishal Dadlani collaborated on something which is something very sentimental to each and every individual that is her or his Mother Tongue. Not only the mother tongue but the LANGUAGE of  the place they were born.

India is a unique country with various languages and dialects. According to Census of India of 2001, India has 122 major languages and 1599 other languages . This is how diverse the land is. Each language is as beautiful as the other.
“Because without our language, we have lost ourselves. Who are we without our words?”

In the present day scenario things like migration, rehabilitation and other such phenomenon, make us leave behind a hole treasure called “Language.”
The song quotes two such prominent instances. Firstly, The Sindhi’s from the sindh, Vishal Dadlani explains that he a an individual was born and brought up in Mumbai and according to him he has every thing. Moments later, whilst his deep thinking he says, theirs more to life that i have never got and that is to know my Mother Tongue.
Being a Sindhi, who was never exposed to the language tells that know he realizes that in the race of life what we all tend to leave behind. He not only admits that he has left behind his Language but he says, i have left behind a part of my Individuality.

Secondly, Amit Kilam ( Indian Ocean Band Member) explains how the Kashmiri Pandits had to flea from their home land due to Disturbance in Jammu & Kashmir. He says that generations from now will never get to know the beautiful Language and will never really get to know the real essence of the Place they Belong to.

A very beautiful song on your way…just close your eyes and feel the song maybe you will come to realise what all you have left Behind 🙂
