Everybody remembers 2010 World Cup when Andre Iniesta of Spain scored the World Cup winning goal. Every soccer fan in India follows Barclays Premiere League. Arsenal ,Liverpool, Manchester United are the teams recognized worldwide.

Just like Indian Premiere League for cricket was launched in the year 2008. India introduces HERO INDIAN SUPER LEAGUE with a vision to become global football power and qualify for the2026 FIFA WORLD CUP. A dream of every Indian football fan. If  it turns out to be a successful venture then it can create a revolution. Unlike the majority of football leagues around the world, the ISL does not use the promotion and relegation system. Instead, it uses a franchise system in which eight teams were created to participate in the league.

Hero is the title sponsor for Indian Super League. Maruti Suzuki and Samsung Galaxy are its associate sponsors. Amul ,PUMA,The  Muthoot group ,PEPSI are its official partners.RELIANCE is the league organizer for ISL and Barclays Premiere League is its strategic partner.

The eight teams are Atletico De Kolkata ,Chennaiyin FC, Delhi Dynamos  FC, FC Goa,FC Pune City,Kerala Blasters FC ,Mumbai City FC and North East United FC.

The league officially started on 12 October,2014 at Salt Lake Stadium  with a match between Atletico De KOLKATA and Mumbai FC. Kolkata won the inaugural match 3-0.

Currently Atletico De Kolkata is on the top of the points table with 11 points from 5 matches. FC Goa is on the bottom of the table with 1  point from 4 matches. North East United FC is also sitting pretty at the points table with 7 points from 4 matches.

Lets see if the tables can turn in the upcoming matches.
