It is an honour to share some thoughts on women who constitute approximately half of the Indian population. They are the force behind India! They are the power of India! They are the real leaders of the great country! Several revolutions are active with their support. They have transformed the Indian society amazingly by working from behind scenes, Because, they think what is possible. They think what is feasible. They make things happen and they see that India become prosperous.

India gave birth to great leaders such as Jhansi Lakshmi Bhai, Sarojini Naidu and Indira Gandhi who brought some revolutionary changes in our society. History shows that the countries that respected and empowered women prospered significantly. However, when we look at our country, we find alarming atrocities on women. It seems there is no safety and security for women in India. The situation has gone too extreme that women started to suspect majority of men because of recurrent reporting of rape and nonviolence on women. We need to think about it deeply to reverse the trend to win the trust and confidence of women in India. It all needs the change in the mind-set of the men who cannot live without the support of women and who wouldn’t have been into this world without women.

It is the fact that most Indian women suffer silently from cradle to grave. You might be listening to news, reading newspaper or magazine, you would have gone through incidents and accidents with women in India. Yes, it is only in India that glaring and brutal gang rapes occur. Gender discrimination is the least of the worries for women in India, known otherwise as the fourth most dangerous countries in the world for women. Other instances of violence against women has an astonishing and grim variety to it-with acid throwing, domestic violence, Eve teasing, stemming out of dowry and an assortment of others.

Is this the way our ladies should be treated?

Isn’t it our responsibility to provide them security?

Isn’t it in our hands to provide better things for them?

The crimes against women fly directly against orchestrating women empowerment in India. To understand what it is that drives such crimes against women is an essay on its own, if not a PhD thesis. There are a vast number of drivers for such behaviour in the Indian citizenry, but there are some acute reasons that such behaviour continues despite the apparent movement towards civilization.

Women want to be treated as equals so much so that if a woman rises to the top of her field it should be a common place occurrence that draws nothing more than a raised eyebrow at the gender. This can happen if there is a channelized route for the empowerment of women.

Thus it is no real surprise that women empowerment in India is a hotly discussed topic with no real solution looming in the horizon except to doubly redouble our efforts and continue to target the sources of all the violence and ill will towards women.

Respect them for what they have sacrificed for us….

Respect them for spending their lives trying to pleasure us….

Respect them for being so patient in spending their entire existence in fighting for us…

Respect them for their natural talent to take care of us…

Respect them for rendering their support for us…

Respect them for Everything…!!
