HUMPTY SHARMA KI DULHANIA is a quintessential Bollywood romance and ticks all the customary boxes that make a love story work. Yet, Shashank Khaitan makes sure the screenwriting incorporates several amusing and compelling episodes that steer clear of rusty formulas that we are used to watching in films of this genre. Shashank also steers clear of full-scale melodrama, loud and familiar masala and earsplitting background score, which could’ve seeped in naturally, given the genre of the film. He keeps it subtle, but makes sure the film wins you over. The sequences between Varun and Ashutosh Rana are the highpoint of the film. We would like to single out the sequence at the railway station; it’s incredible. As a storyteller, Shashank knows his fundas right and he gives his lead actors a well-knit, cohesive screenplay to peg their acting skills. Additionally, the film is brimming with several earnest episodes, besides decorating the sequences with witty lines. It remains to be seen if Alia and Varun end up together in this film as there is a hot villain too- Siddharth Shula of Balika Vadhu fame. But whatever the outcome, Alia and Varun look good together on the silver screen. Both are good looking, share a comfortable rapport with each other. The crackling chemistry between the lead pair, Varun Dhawan and Alia Bhatt is hard to ignore. Describing their equation, Alia said in an exclusive interview to Bombay times, “Varun and I share a love-hate relationship. We fight almost all the time. People around us are always telling us to stop. It’s a lot like our film characters, Humpty and Kavya. We fight so much because we actually love each other.” This may give you a reason to watch the movie.320417-humpty-sharma-ki-dulhania.jpg

As an tribute to Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge- Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania which releases on 11th July 2014, is an ode to the 1995 film Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge starring Shahrukh Khan and Kajol. This Aditya Chopra directed film broke all box office records and is one of the most loved romantic films in the history of Indian cinema. It would be very interesting to see if Aalia and Varun really can match up to the SRK-Kajol Chemistry. New Face- Siddharth Shukla makes his Bollywood debut with this film. Siddharth plays a parallel lead in the film and promises to be as charming on the silver screen. Peppy and Romantic Music- Alia Bhatt made her singing debut with Highway and she carries forward that tradition once again in Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania. She sang Sooha Saaha along with Zeb in Highway and now she’s sang the female unplugged version of the song Samjhawan which she has dedicated to co star Varun Dhawan. Even the song Saturday Saturday has been a huge hit online and is a peppy party number that makes you want to dance. The songs ahve been much lvoed with a balanced mix of romantic and peppy numbers. The music has been given by Sachin – Jigar and Toshi Sabri Over all the film is an entertainer for all bollywood lovers.
