Common Management Admission Test (CMAT) has started its registration from 10th of October, and it will continue until 10th of December. The scheduled date for CMAT 2017 is 28th January. In a bunch of entrance exam for MBA programs, it is difficult for a candidate to understand which exam to take and which one to leave, though most of these have similar examination structure. To reduce the stress of admission in B-schools AICTE launched CMAT. Till 2016 the CMAT was held twice a year first in September and then in February, but now it will happen only in February and this year candidates can apply for 4lakh+ seats in MBA programs in institutes approved by AICTE across India.

All candidates who are planning to apply for CMAT have to register themselves on the official site. The fee for registration is Rs 1400 for general and Rs 700 for SC/ST/PWD. Payment of the CMAT Exam can only be accepted online through cards or net banking. The exam will be for three hours and candidate have to answer about 100 question in four sections

After CMAT exam result is declared, all the institutes will declare a list of shortlisted candidates for the next round of selection process. All these steps are dependent on the institutes and differ from B-School to B-School. Similar to other PG level examination institutes participating in CMAT  have a three-step selection process, after which their cutoff will shortlist the candidate. Commonly, the shortlisted candidates will have to participate in Personal Interview, Group Discussion, and or Written Ability Test rounds.

All these processes are entirely dependent on the choice of B-Schools, and it may differ from college to college.
