M.S. Dhoni – The Untold Story:

The most ambitious project of 2016 with a whopping budget of 104 crores, this film brought along with it a lot of excitement and hope. M.S Dhoni, the cricket sensation was all the reason for it. The 3 minutes 18 second trailer of the film gave chills when we saw Sushant Singh as MS Dhoni. Talking about the film now, let’s see if the expectations met the reality or not.

The first shock the film gave was the runtime. 3 hours 10 minutes, which is out of trend these days where the Indian audience is used to the 2 hour format. But the experiment was quite successful as the film keeps on giving whistleable scenes time to time and you will be engaged till the last minute. No doubt the film could have easily cut off atleast 30-40 minutes, which included detailed childhood and melodramatic love sequences.

The film focussed only about the heroic life of MS Dhoni’s struggle and stardom and the director intelligently didn’t include any of the controversies relating to Captain Cool.

Neeraj Pandey, the director must have achieved his motive. The film is has the essence of motivation, the film conveys that risk is important in life and anybody can achieve anything.

About the acting, Sushant Singh Rajput has proved the actor in himself. He has done it previously as well, but nothing was as grand as this. He deserves a special acknowledgement for this film.

The producers did a brilliant job, they managed to get all the footage of 2011 World Cup with Sushant in it. Some scenes will make your eyes teary.

Overall the film is a must watch, but didn’t actually meet the expectations. Ignore the part where the film is stretched just after the intermission, and you are all good to go.
